How do I create a booking calendar (bookable) that people or my AI agent can book on?
A bookable is how people book things in Votel. You build it once and it can be shared as a booking link, embedded as a widget on a website, or used by an AI agent as a tool.
- Go to Calendars, click Bookables, then click Add a bookable.
- Choose what you are booking (for example a meeting, an appointment, a class or a rental) and pick the widget style.
- Give it a title and set the duration, for example a roof inspection that takes sixty minutes. You can offer several durations or options, such as quarter day, half day and full day for a rental.
- Set the staff member (the business owner or their employees), the time zone, and capacity if more than one person can book the same slot.
- Set whether it is a free or paid booking. You can add prices and packages.
- Set the location, for example in person, or a video call with the built-in meeting platform.
- Customize the intake form. Name, email and phone are there by default. Add more fields by picking a built-in field (for example Billing Street or Mailing Street) or by adding a custom field (for example how old the roof is in years).
- Set notifications. Meeting reminders are built in, for example 24 hours before and one hour before, by email and SMS.
- Set booking rules, such as a minimum notice (two hours, or 24 hours for something like an inspection) and blocked dates for holidays.
- Save.
Availability comes from the staff member's schedule on the calendar's Staff tab. Once saved, you can share the booking link, put the bookable on a website as a widget, or let an AI agent book on it. To give an AI agent the calendar, go to the agent's Tools and Integrations, click Create tool, add a Bookable, select your calendar, and tag the tool in the agent's instructions with the @ symbol.
